School Senedd

Why do we have a School Senedd?

At South Point Primary, we value the importance of giving every learner a voice in shaping our school and caring for the world around us. As the first Net-Zero Carbon School in Wales, we take pride in our commitment to sustainability and to making a positive difference within our community.

Our School Senedd brings together pupils from across the school to share ideas, make decisions, and take action. It combines our former Eco Committee and School Council to create one united group that represents all aspects of school life — from environmental projects to wellbeing, learning, and community initiatives.

Through their work in the Senedd, pupils develop important skills such as confidence, communication, teamwork, and responsibility. It’s a valuable opportunity for them to play an active role in how our school is run and how we can all continue to be “the best that we can be.”

Who is in the School Senedd?

Our School Senedd is made up of elected representatives from Year 2 to Year 6, chosen by their peers at the start of each school year. These members work together to represent the views and ideas of every learner across the school.

What does the School Senedd do?

The School Senedd meets regularly to discuss ideas, plan projects, and make decisions that help improve our school and community. Members share updates with their classes and encourage everyone to contribute suggestions through the Senedd Suggestion Box.
